Filefox 4 Save tabs on exit
Mozilla Firefox has proven to be the most successful challenger to Microsoft Internet Explorer and is fast closing in on the usage share of IE. The recently released Firefox 4 proved that this browser is indeed very popular with it crossing 10 million downloads in just 24 hours, beating the record recently set by IE9 by a huge margin. Today, we will show you how you can make this already popular browser even better by using some easy to do tips and tricks.
Save tabs on exit
There were quite a few changes made in this version of Firefox, and while some were good, a few were not. Users of earlier version of Firefox were shocked to find out that there is no longer any option to save tabs on exit, so that those tabs are restored the next time you start Firefox and continue from where you were last time. This was a very good feature and while it would have made sense to disable it when we had only slow dial-up internet, it just doesn't make sense removing it when almost everyone has decent internet connections. But it is not entirely true that this feature has been taken out. You can still enable it by diving into the advanced configuration settings of Firefox.
Type "about:config" (without the quotes), in the Firefox 4 address bar and hit ENTER.
Now you will see a warning, just click on "I'll be careful, I promise" button.
You will see a host of settings which can be changed to alter the way this browser behaves. Type browser.show in the Filter dialog box to narrow down to the setting you want to change.
You will now see that there is only one setting in the list below - browser.showQuitWarning, and it is set to false. Right-click on it and click on Toggle to set it to true. Firefox 4 will now ask you to save your tabs when you exit and will restore them automatically the next time you launch the browser.

How To Make Mozilla Firefox as Default Browser
When you run Firefox for the first time, you get the chance to make the browser the default browser of the system. You can uncheck that option which you may want to do if you want to test the browser first, or want that another installed browser remains the default browser on the system.
You may at a later time come to the decision that you’d like to make Mozilla Firefox your default browser. Many users however seem to have a hard time finding the setting or preference to make the browser the default program on the system.
Here is a quick guide on how you configure Firefox to be the default system browser after it has been installed on a computer system.
If you are running Firefox 4 select the Firefox button on top and then Options > Options. Users who are running an earlier version of Firefox, and users who have enabled the old menubar need to select Tools > Options instead.
Locate the Advanced tab on top and load it. Select General from the list of sub-tabs. Locate the System Defaults section.
You have two options now. A click on the Check Now button performs the default browser check immediately, and you will get a notification prompt if it is not the default browser.
A click on Yes there will set the version of Firefox as the default system browser. No on the other hand cancels the request.
The second option is to place a checkmark in the “Always check to see if Firefox is the default browser on startup” preference. This forces Firefox to check if it is the default browser on every startup, again with a prompt to make it the default browser if it is not.
Hope this helps Firefox users who have difficulties finding the right setting in the browser.
Please note that some programs on Windows may override the default browser setting.
