Use Me in Facebook Chat
So here we are with yet another nifty little trick to help you use those meme faces in your facebook chat! Yes, you read that right, we will help you use meme faces in the facebook chat!
Facebook chat is pretty plain. Although it lets you have group conversations, send emoticons etc., its features are too less when compared to other chat services like Yahoo Messenger or MSN Messenger or some other messengers. But if you are a meme lover, there’s good news for you. You can now send memes to your friend on Facebook chat.
Internet Memes are sketches or pictures that reflect people and their behavior and spread from people to people. You must be familiar with Rage Comics that have become very popular on the internet through sites like 4chan, reddit and 9gag. These memes are used to reflect people’s behavior or as an element of sarcasm. If you want to send memes to your friend on chat, Facebook lets you do that.
You need to type the names or codes in specific formats in order to get the desired meme. Some of the most popular memes are Yao Ming, Good Guy Greg, True Story, Me Gusta etc. Here’s a list of some of the popular memes and the codes for sending them via chat.
[[foreveralonecomics]] = forever alone.
[[MegustaMeMe]] = Me Gusta.
[[149333368464171]] = Yao Ming.
[[168456309878025]] = LoL.
[[106043532814443]] = Y U NO.
[[116616581692281]] = Trollface.
[[214457085240151]] = Nothing to do here.
[[129627277060203]] = Poker Face.
[[160723207280093]] = Are you f*cking kidding me?
[[ChallengeAceptado]] = challenge Accepted.
There are more as well and the following image will provide you with all that we have been able to find till now!
Top 10 Facebook Apps for Fan Engagement and Building Community
Are you looking for ways to better engage Facebook fans and build your community?
These top 10 Facebook apps are, in my opinion, some of the most useful ones for pages when it comes to encouraging fan engagement and giving value to your community.
#1: Fan of the Week for Pages
Your fans like to be recognized. This application keeps track of participation on your Facebook page and then automatically posts a “shout out” to your fan of the week.
The application is free for the basic message, but in this post, Club D’Ville has upgraded to the paid version to post a custom message that rewards the fan of the week even more with some free passes.
The fan of the week application also adds a custom tab to your sidebar that features that week’s fan on the tab.
To add it to your page, just go to http://apps.facebook.com/fanofthe/ and then choose the page to add it to. The app will automatically post to your page wall at the same time every week. Make sure you add the app to your page at the exact time you would like it to post.
#2: Booshaka
Booshaka is another application that will highlight the fans who are participating on your page more often. When you install the application, a custom tab called Top Fans is added to your page.
Fans get the most points for posting to your wall and they also receive points for comments and likes.
You can view the stats of each fan listed to see how they have participated. The app gives a complete history of the fan’s activity on your page.
To install Booshaka, just go to www.Booshaka.com and click the blue Install button. They also have a Top Fans Pro version that rewards the top fans with perks.
#3: NetworkedBlogs
Facebook has changed the news feed algorithm, so it can be hard to keep track of what’s working and what’s not.
But in recent news, Facebook appears to have changed its algorithm again so that third-party posting applications such as NetworkedBlogs, HootSuite, TweetDeck and others will not be hidden in the news feed.
I have done my own research and have not found any collapsed posts from these applications, which is good news.
Even though it’s always best for engagement and EdgeRank purposes to post manually on Facebook, sometimes a little automation can be helpful. NetworkedBlogs is an application that automatically posts your new blog posts to your Facebook wall. You can use it to post to your personal profile, your Facebook page and Twitter accounts.
The application will pull in the title of the blog post, the first picture in the post (or a screen shot of your entire blog if there isn’t a picture) and the first few lines of the post. When someone clicks on the post, there are Share buttons at the top of the post to allow readers to easily share it with their networks.
I find the setup and navigation of NetworkedBlogs a little challenging, but there are help files. The easiest way to add NetworkedBlogs to your fan page is by going tohttp://www.facebook.com/networkedblogs and clicking on the Add to My Page link on the left sidebar.
#4: Post Planner
Sometimes you need to schedule your posts to your Facebook page. There are some scheduling tools such as SocialOomph, HootSuite or TweetDeck, but none has the capability to schedule posts with pictures or video. Post Planner can help with that.
The tool does cost $4.95/month to post to pages, but having some peace of mind that you won’t forget to post at the perfect time can help. Always make sure you are engaging and checking back into the conversation.
Post Planner also has a White Label version so you can customize the app name and send people who click on it to your website instead of to an application.
The easiest way to install Post Planner is to go to www.postplanner.com.
#5: YouTube
If you have a YouTube channel, I recommend integrating it into your Facebook page so that people who come to your page can easily access your videos. There are many YouTube applications, but my favorite is YouTube for Pages by Involver. It’s easy to install, the layout is nice and it offers easy sharing.
Your most recent video is automatically displayed as the largest. The application will not automatically post your newest video to the wall, but you can easily post it with just two clicks.
The application is easy to install from http://www.facebook.com/YouTubeApp and then click the Add to My Page link on the left sidebar.
#6: Livestream
Livestream is a great way to bring live video events to your Facebook page. The chat feature can make it more interactive with the audience. You can record the events for later viewing.
To add Livestream to your page, go to http://apps.facebook.com/livestream/ and click the green Get Started button.
#7: ContactMe
Make it easy for people to get in touch with you with a contact form on your Facebook page. With the ContactMe app, you can add many different fields and customize the form to suit your needs. Install the ContactMe form athttp://www.facebook.com/contactforms.
#8: Constant Contact
Many people wonder how to add a newsletter signup to their page. There are lots of ways that include iFrame apps and design.
What I like about the Constant Contact application is that it is very simple to use. But it doesn’t allow for a lot of bells and whistles. You can add text to talk about your newsletter and even a picture as shown in the figure below.
But for people who are intimidated by code and too much customization capability, this application can be just the ticket to add a newsletter signup if you use the Constant Contact email service.
Get started at http://apps.facebook.com/ctctjmml/.
Note: MailChimp also has a Facebook app for newsletter signup if you use their service: http://apps.facebook.com/mailchimp/.
#9: Scribd for Pages
Scribd is a document-sharing service that makes it easy to upload and share PDF, DOC, XLS, JPG and PPT files. People often want to be able to share a document with their Facebook community.
While you could upload the document to your website and share the link, the Scribd application allows people to easily view the document right in the tab and download it if they wish.
Involver also developed Scribd for Pages, and the easiest way to install it is to go tohttp://apps.facebook.com/involver_epdmxwnq/. You can also access it by going towww.Involver.com.
#10: Ecwid
To open a storefront that operates within Facebook, add Ecwid to your page. Ecwid integrates with PayPal, Google Checkout, Authorize.net and several other payment processing options.
Setting up a store is a little more involved than the other apps listed here, but can easily draw attention to your products and services. Ecwid has forums and very good customer support to help you on your way to becoming a social e-commerce pro.
To get started, go to www.ecwid.com.
Applications can and should enhance your community’s experience with your Facebook page. They can also make your life easier with a little automation.
What do you think? Have you tried these applications? What has been your experience? Share your questions and comments with us in the box below.
Bin Laden top story of 2011
New York - The killing of Osama bin Laden during a raid by Navy Seals on his hideout in Pakistan was the top news story of 2011, followed by Japan's earthquake and tsunami disaster, according to The Associated Press' annual poll of US editors and news directors.
The death of bin Laden, the al-Qaeda leader who masterminded the September 11 2001, terror attacks, received 128 first-place votes out of 247 ballots cast for the top 10 stories.
The Japan disaster was next, with 60 first-place votes. Placing third were the Arab Spring uprisings that rocked North Africa and the Middle East, while the European Union's financial turmoil was No 4.
The international flavour of these top stories contrasted with last year's voting - when the Gulf of Mexico oil spill was the top story, US President Barack Obama's health care overhaul was No 2, and the US midterm elections were No 3.
Here are 2011's top 10 stories, in order:
- Osama Bin Laden's death:
He'd been the world's most-wanted terrorist for nearly a decade, ever since a team of his al-Qaeda followers carried out the attacks of September 11 2001.
In May, the long and often-frustrating manhunt ended with a night-time assault by a helicopter-borne special operations squad on his compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan. Bin Laden was shot dead by one of the raiders, and within hours his body was buried at sea.
- Japan's triple disaster:
A 9.0-magnitude earthquake off Japan's northeast coast in March unleashed a tsunami that devastated scores of communities, leaving nearly 20 000 people dead or missing and wreaking an estimated $218bn in damage.
The tsunami triggered the worst nuclear crisis since Chernobyl after waves knocked out the cooling system at a nuclear power plant, causing it to spew radiation that turned up in local produce. About 100 000 people evacuated from the area have not returned to their homes.
- Arab spring:
It began with demonstrations in Tunisia that rapidly toppled the long-time strongman. Spreading like a wildfire, the Arab Spring protests sparked a revolution in Egypt that ousted Hosni Mubarak, fuelled a civil war in Libya that climaxed with Muammar Gaddafi's death, and fomented a bloody uprising in Syria against the Assad regime.
Bahrain and Yemen also experienced major protests and unrest.
- EU fiscal crisis:
The EU was hit with relentless fiscal turmoil. In Greece, austerity measures triggered strikes, protests and riots, while Italy's economic woes toppled Premier Silvio Berlusconi. France and Germany led urgent efforts to ease the debt crisis; Britain balked at proposed changes.
- US economy:
By some measures, the US economy gained strength as the year progressed. Hiring picked up a bit, consumers were spending more, and the unemployment rate finally dipped below 9%.
But millions of Americans remained buffeted by foreclosures, joblessness and benefit cutbacks, and investors were on edge monitoring the chain of fiscal crises in Europe.
- Penn State sex abuse scandal:
One of America's most storied college football programs was tarnished in a scandal that prompted the firing of Hall of Fame football coach Joe Paterno.
One of his former assistants, Jerry Sandusky, was accused of sexually molesting 10 boys; two senior Penn State officials were charged with perjury; and the long-time president was ousted. Paterno wasn't charged, but expressed regret he didn't do more after being told there was a problem.
- Gaddafi toppled in Libya:
After nearly 42 years of mercurial and often brutal rule, Muammar Gaddafi was toppled by his own people. Anti-government protests escalated into an eight-month rebellion, backed by Nato bombing, that shattered his regime, and Gaddafi finally was tracked down and killed in the fishing village where he was born.
- Fiscal showdowns in congress:
Partisan divisions in Congress led to several showdowns on fiscal issues. A fight over the debt ceiling prompted Standard & Poor's to strip the US of its AAA credit rating.
Later, the so-called "supercommittee" failed to agree on a deficit-reduction package of at least $1.2 trillion - potentially triggering automatic spending cuts of that amount starting in 2013.
- Occupy Wall Street protests:
It began on September 17 with a protest at a New York City park near Wall Street, and within weeks spread to scores of communities across the US and abroad.
The movement depicted itself as leaderless and shied away from specific demands, but succeeded in airing its complaint that the richest 1% of Americans benefit at the expense of the rest. As winter approached, local police dismantled several of the protest encampments.
- Gabrielle Giffords shot:
The popular third-term congresswoman from Arizona suffered a severe brain injury when she and 18 other people were shot by a gunman as she met with constituents outside a Tucson supermarket in January. Six people died, and Giffords' painstaking recovery is still in progress.
Among the news events falling just short of the Top 10 were the death of Apple Inc co-founder Steve Jobs, Hurricane Irene, the devastating series of tornados across Midwest and south-eastern US, and the repeal of the "don't ask, don't tell" policy that barred gays from serving openly in US military.

Hackers invade servers of Indian embassy in Paris
The government agencies have now launched an investigating into the matter
New Delhi: Anonymous cyber hackers allegedly invaded the servers of the Indian embassy office in Paris and walked away with loads of official documents last month. The hackers later posted all the files, including a proposal to rope in Airbus for the indigenous manufacturing of civilian aircraft and visits of senior bureaucrats, ministers and intelligence officials to France, on a website to show how vulnerable the servers are.
The hacker on the post claimed these files were stored on computers within the ministry of external affairs' servers worldwide.
The government agencies have now launched an investigating into the matter.
"No highly sensitive document seems to have been stolen but if the hackers have been able to breach the secure servers, it is a matter of serious concern. We have alerted the various government departments. We are also investigating the origin of attack and how these documents found their way into the public domain," a source said.
The Indian embassy in Paris said it is not aware of such incident and would not like to comment on it.
Dr Gulshan Rai, director general of the Indian computer emergency response team (CERT-In), could not be reached for his comments despite several attempts to contact him. CERT-In is the national nodal agency for cyber security related incidents.
The post also claims successful infiltration of servers of the Indian embassies in Paris, Canberra and New Delhi. Documents of the United States chamber of commerce (USCC) and the national foreign trade council (NFTC) have also been hacked and released in the public domain.
Several letters and agenda items of the USCC towards Chinese trade are part of the stolen documents.
Hackers have also got their hands on the document of the high power committee on national civil aircraft development, led by G. Madhavan Nair, where in one of his letter to the Indian embassy in Paris he is indicating possible collaboration with the M/S Airbus industries to develop indigenous civilian aircraft.
More than 400 MB data has details of official deputation and ministerial visits to France. France-based Indian companies meeting in the Paris embassy and concerns raised by them are also part of the files. Some of these documents are as latest as the second week of November, 2011.
Earlier, the Europe-based threat to Indian establishment was exposed when Italian cyber police allegedly infiltrated computers of the Indian embassy in Moscow and stole hundreds of document in 2009-2010.
The matter came to light only in August this year after a hackers group, ANTI SEC, infiltrated the Italian cyber police computers and stole the data from their computers and published it on the web.
Though the Indian government had then issued a clarification stating no sensitive information was leaked from its embassy in Moscow, it admitted some unclassified data may have come out from other sources.

You only have two fears when you are Born
When you are first born your only fears were of falling and of loud noises. They are built into your DNA and have been passed down from generation to generation as a survival mechanism

Every other fear you face you have learned throughout your life.
