Artificial trees will capture energy from Sun and Wind
Alternative energy is all the rage as we try to reduce dependency on foreign oil and lower our monthy bills without reading by candlelight. At the head of the pack are three different technologies: wind turbines, solar panels that capture energy from sunlight and solar collectors that convert the heat from the sun into electricity. A London company combined all three into a power plant you'd want to have in your yard: an artificial tree.
The company, Solar Botanic, has created a fully artificial tree capable of generating enough electricity for a house and reduce the home owner's dependence on the public power grid. The "trees" take advantage of the wind, light and heat they're exposed to while outside. Solar Botanic's website refers to these three technologies as piezovoltaic, photovoltaic and thermovoltaic, respectively.
A description on Solar Botanic's website says, "The more wind there is, the more Nanoleaves are moved." And, "The stronger the wind, the higher the 'flap' frequency, and therefore the larger the watts generated."
Plus, falling raindrops can also producing electricity by stimulating leaf movement. Though each individual movement, warmth or ray will only generate picowatts of power, hundreds of leaves on a single tree can combine to generate a siginificant wattage.
According to Solar Botanic, a broad leaf artificial tree resembling an oak or a maple could generate 3500kWh and 7000kWh per year, and an evergreen could crank out 2500kWh to 7000kWh per year.
NEWS: SunGlacier Aspires To Deep Freeze The Desert
The company said their solutions offer, "50 percent more power than conventional solar systems." Energy gathered is stored in the trunk until it can be used by the house.
Solar Botanic has plans to create shrubs and bushes as well.
If successfully created and affordalbe, these trees have other added benefits versus more traditional alternative power systems: they look like trees.
Plus, as tree analogs, they could provide shade in the summer, create natural sound and visual barriers and provide decor for urban rooftops. In the future, they may even incorporate air filteration systems.
The only unanswered question is, "Can it support a tire swing?"

The fourteenth legislative assembly election was held on 13 April 2011 to elect members from 234 constituencies in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
Results were released on 13 May 2011.
AIADMK won the election winning in 203 constituencies.
What Jayalalithaa did after came into power:
jayalalithaa Soon after came into power- Arrested Kanimozhi, Raja for 2G spectrum in the name of Corruption.
- Jayalalithaa abandoned the new legislative assembly-secretariat complex and moved back to the former legislative building, Fort St. George.
- Protested to chnage metro rail project to start mono rail project.
- Tried to convert Anna Centenary Library to child care hospital.
- Didn’t support central government to protect the koodankulam workers from the people those who are protesting against koodankulam project.
- Then at last Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on Thursday(17/11/2011) announced her government’s nod at Fort St. George for the Hike in Bus fares, Power tariff and Milk prices.
- And it came into existence on Friday.
- The drastic increase in the price of milk and bus tariff would add burden the people.
- The price hike, will be a drastic burden to the people living below the poverty line, since they were already suffering due to the increase in the price of essential commodities.
- Milk, power and transport were the essential commodities for the people. But now the cost is now increased drastically.
Jayalalithaa’s Reasons for steep in price:
- She stated that Tamil Nadu Electricity Board was facing mounting losses of Rs 53,000 crore.
- Justifying the hike in bus fares, Jayalalithaa said price of diesel and automobile spares like tyres had increased manifold.
- Announcing a hike in milk procurement prices by Rs two per litre, the Chief Minister said the Tamil Nadu milk Producers co-operatives apex body Aavin could not procure more than 22 lakh litres of the total of 150 lakh litres produced due to financial constraints.
- Jayalalithaa states that heavy loss to “State Transport Corporations, Tamil Nadu Electricity Board and Tamil Nadu Co-operative Milk Producers’ Federation (‘Aavin’)”. so she raised the fare states Jayalalithaa.
Of course there will be loss its true. But we should see to the poor back ground peoples condition. That only DMK did, they understand the situation of poor back ground people and offered reasonable rate.
Jayalalithaa’s Trick:
Jayalalithaa said during election campaign that she will provide Laptop for 12th and college students, and some stuffs.Jayalalithaa increased the Bus, Milk and Power fare, because to regain the money which is going to spend to buy products like Laptop and other stuffs to provide to people as announced during Election Campaign.
Who Will Help People?
Will DMK Help us? or Who going to Help us?
Its all just happened in 6 months. More 4 years Jayalalithaa will rule the state Tamil Nadu. What’s going to happen?
Really People going to Suffer a lot. Poverty rate will get increased.
For next 5 years there will be No Proper Roads, No Proper Maintenance of Public Transport etc.
Thanks for the people to select a right person to Govern the state for next five years.

The fastest living thing on the planet is a fungus!
This nasty little fungus lives in horse manure. Thanks to high speed cameras captured the spores of the fungi doing some pretty remarkable speed feats. The spores accelerate from 0 - 20km/h in 2 millionths of a second and can pull over 20G of force.
They look like like little bulbs full of some liquid. At first glance, they just disappear, but they took a high speed camera that shows how the spores actually shoot off the surface of the poop at a speed equivalent of a human being launched at 100 times the speed of sound.
The reason they need to launch so fast is because they need to spread as much as possible. This is because they need horses to eat them, which they won't do if they're near poop. The incredible acceleration allows them to clear over 6 ft in distance to the nice poop-free grass.
Research says A pigeon will never forget your face!
Researchers have shown that pigeons have remarkable perception. They went to a park and had one researcher ignore the pigeons, while the other was hostile and chased them away. Then later, they each returned, and neither tried to chase them away.
The results were staggering: the pigeons ran away from the person who chased them away earlier, but not from the other one. They even recognized the people correctly when they switched their clothes. They were able to recognize their faces!

The Nicholas Cage movie is about how a man becomes an arms dealer. This
makes it appropriate that the director of the film was involved in a little
arms dealing to make the movie.
Because of his small budget, he decided he couldn't afford to make 3,000
prop guns to shoot his film. So he went to the Czech Republic and bought
3000 Kalashnikov automatic rifles for filming. Not only that, at the end of
the shoot, he sold them for a loss. He meant to destroy them but couldn't
afford to either.

The origin of the word "Goodbye" is the phrase "God be with you"
Shortest story was only 6 words
Hemingway's shortest story was only six words long!
The story was a work of what's now called "Flash fiction," because it tries
to convey a full story in as few words as possible. Hemingway's story is
this: "For sale: baby shoes, never worn."

The 6 word story is an extreme example of Flash Fiction. There is an award
called the Micro Award that recognizes the best stories that are less than
1,000 words long. It's called the "Micro Award."
OMG word usage started from 1917
Not only is the word OMG in the dictionary, it's usage has been traced to
1917!
The Oxford English Dictionary traced the first recorded use of OMG to a
1917 letter from a British Admiral in which he wrote: "I hear that a new
order of Knighthood is on the tapis-O.M.G. (Oh! My God!)-Shower it on the
Admiralty!"

Disney employees used to share underwear!
Disney has really strict dress codes for their employees. This is because
they don't want to ruin the illusion of the characters being real. One of
the particular quirks of this dress code is that employees were not allowed
to use their own underwear while in character! This is because normal
underwear tends to bunch up and bulk under the costume.
To prevent this, Disney would have a communal pool of underwear that
employees had to turn in every day to be washed along with their costume!
The policy was in place until 2001. We haven't been able to find what the
current policy is; if you know it tell us in the comments.

Sharks have no bones in their body!
Their skeleton is made of cartilage, the same substance that your nose is
made of. It's more flexible and lighter than bones are. This makes it more
durable, and light, which saves them energy. This is particularly useful
because sharks have to constantly swim in order to not drown. Sharks also
lack a rib cage, which means that they can be crushed by their own weight
on land!
Now you know. Next time a shark's about to eat you, you can at least be
consoled that it's a spineless animal. Or you could get Orcas to help you

As if jumping out of a plane wasn't enough thrill, there's a new trend in
Japan where people jump out of an airplane without having a parachute!
It's called Banzai Skydiving. What they do is parachuters throw the
parachute out of the airplane first, then dive after it! Their hope is that
they can catch it, put it on and pull the parachute before they die.
This dangerous sport was highlighted as one of the crazy things people do
to get on the Guinness World Records. The editor decided to keep it in. The
Guinness World Records will reject records that endanger people other than
the record setter. They decided that this only endangered the parachuter.

How to Deal with Common Allergy ?
An allergy is a medical condition that makes you feel ill when you eat or come in contact with a particular substance. General physician Dr Shahid Barmare says, “Allergies happen when the immune system mistakenly believes that something the person ate or came in contact with, is harmful to the body. To protect the body, the immune system produces IgE antibodies to that allergen. IgE antibodies then trigger mast cells (allergy cells in the body) to release chemicals into the bloodstream. One of these chemicals is histamine. Histamine acts on the eyes, nose, throat, lungs, skin or gastrointestinal tract and causes symptoms of an allergic reaction. Once the body has made antibodies against a certain allergen, these antibodies easily recognise the allergen. Each time the person comes in contact with the allergen, the body releases histamine into the bloodstream again, creating allergy symptoms,” says Dr Barmare.
Cosmetic physician Dr Rashmi Shetty lists common allergies that affect people.
Dust allergy
Having runny or stuffy nose, itchy, watery eyes and sneezing due to dust exposure such as vacuuming, sweeping, and dusting means you are affected by dust allergy.
Symptoms: Well-known dust allergy symptoms are unmanageable sneezing, itchy, watery eyes and in some cases a small red-colored dust allergy rash located on some part of your body such as your stomach or your upper arm.
Pollen allergyDuring spring and summer, tiny particles are released from trees, weeds and grasses. Known as pollen, these ride in the air and enter noses and throats, triggering a type of seasonal allergic rhinitis called Pollen allergy.
Symptoms: Although pollen allergy symptoms are similar to cold symptoms, you can tell the difference because colds are associated with thicker nasal secretions, sore throat, hoarseness, and possibly fever. Also, colds tend to get better fairly quickly.
Contact allergyContact allergy is caused in sensitive individuals, who can get allergic reactions through different things such as metals (gold-silver oxidised jewelry), leather (wrist watch), synthetic fibers (clothing such as undergarments).
Symptoms: Symptoms of a contact allergy usually occur within 30 minutes after exposure to the allergen, although symptoms may take up to several hours to appear. Common allergens include poison oak and poison ivy, latex, rubber, nickel, preservatives, dyes, medications, fragrances, and cosmetics such as hair dye and perfume.
Sun allergy
Sun allergy is having small white patches due to sunlight on the exposed areas of the body.
Symptoms: Having small white patches due to sunlight on the exposed areas of the body. In addition, there is a syndrome known as "sun drunk" which affects some children who suffer from a sun allergy.
Food allergy
Symptoms include itching in the mouth, hives, itching or eczema, redness around the mouth, swelling of the lips, face, tongue and throat or other parts of the body, wheezing, nasal congestion or difficulty in breathing, pain in the lower abdominal area, diarrhea, nausea or vomiting, dizziness, light headedness or fainting.
“These symptoms are immediately seen after having an allergy causing food. While severe allergy can cause drop in the blood pressure, tightening of the airways making it very difficult to breath, losing one’s consciousness. The best way to avoid allergies is to avoid foods that can cause allergy. But it’s also important that for foods that are excluded, suitable alternatives are introduced to avoid nutrient deficiencies. Equip yourself with enough knowledge to read and understand food labels to know if there is any allergy causing ingredient present before buying any ready-to-eat food stuff,” says detician and sports nutritionist Deepshikha Agarwal.

Be safe
- When in restaurants, avoid calling for a dish with too many ingredients or anything which is completely unknown to you. Always ask ingredients used before trying a new recipe.
- Avoid salad bars, juice bars or self-serve buffets. Arm yourself with enough knowledge so you can be constantly vigilant about what you eat, and what you need to avoid.
- Go for food intolerance/ allergy tests as a precaution to know about its intolerances beforehand.
- If you’re unsure if you have an allergy or hypersensitivity, withdraw the food for two weeks, than reintroduce it to see if you get a reaction.
Foods known to cause allergies
It is observed that many infants under one year old suffer from cow's milk allergy, making it the most common food allergy of childhood. The substitute to cow’s milk can be soya milk. In adults, the most common foods that cause allergic reactions are shellfish (shrimp, crayfish, lobster, and crab), soybeans, peanuts, honey, milk, eggs, peanuts, Brazil nuts, hazelnuts, almonds and walnuts, soya or wheat.
Treatment
- Dust proof your home — remove dust mite hideouts, wash bedding in hot water and vacuum the house with special filters.
- Stay away from areas likely to be moldy like basements, attics, summer cabins closed all winter, shady and leafy areas.
- Wear a close-fitting face mask if you have to visit such places.
- Manage pet allergies. Bathe and brush your pet weekly. Wear a face mask when cleaning or handling your pet or when cleaning kitty litter.
- Clean your air conditioners and avoid exposure to fumes, chemicals and air pollutants etc.
